Visa China
Since January 10, 2023, the PRC government has approved the following rules for obtaining a visa to China:
1) An original passport that is valid for more than 6 months and has 2 pages not occupied by stamps, for gluing a visa and border crossing stamps.
2) A copy of the passport on the photo page in one copy.
3) Two photos without headgear 33*48 mm and one photo must be pasted in the application form.

Here are the documents you need to prepare before applying for a visa:
1. Basic documents
(1) Passport
An original passport with at least six months validity and blank visa pages, and a photocopy of the passport data page and photo page, if separate.
(2) Visa Application and Photo
One completed visa application form with a recently taken color passport photo (bareheaded, full face) against a light background
(3) Proof of lawful stay or status of residence (applicable to those who are not applying for a visa in their country of citizenship)
If you are not applying for a visa in your country of citizenship, you must provide an original and a photocopy of your valid certificates or visas for residence, residence, employment or student status, or other valid certificates of legal residence provided by the relevant authorities. the country you are currently in.
(4) Photocopy of previous Chinese passports or previous Chinese visas (applicable to foreign nationals who were Chinese citizens and acquired foreign citizenship)
If you are applying for a Chinese visa for the first time, you must provide your previous Chinese passport and a photocopy of its details page.
If you have received Chinese visas before and want to apply for a Chinese visa with a renewed foreign passport that does not contain a Chinese visa, you must provide a photocopy of the data page of the previous passport and the photo page, if separate, as well as the previous Chinese visa page . (If your name on your current passport differs from the name on your previous one, you must provide an official document confirming your name change.)
2. Supporting documents
C-Visa
A letter of guarantee issued by a foreign transportation company or an invitation letter issued by a relevant organization in China.
D visa
Original and photocopy of the Alien Permanent Residence Status Confirmation Form issued by the Ministry of Public Security of China.
We remind you that:
D visa holders must, within 30 days from the date of entry, apply to the entry/exit authorities of the public security organs under the local people's governments at the county level or higher at the intended places of residence to obtain a residence permit for foreigners.
F visa
An invitation letter issued by a relevant entity or person in China. The invitation must contain:
(1) Applicant information (full name, gender, date of birth, etc.)
(2) Information about the planned visit (purpose of visit, dates of arrival and departure, place(s) of visit, relationship between the applicant and the inviting organization or individual, source of funding for expenses)
(3) Information about the inviting legal or natural person (name, contact phone number, address, official seal, signature of the legal representative or inviting person)
G-visa
Air ticket (train or ship) with confirmed date and place to the country or region of destination.
J1 display
A visa notification letter issued by the Information Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China and an official letter issued by the media where the journalist works.
Applicants should contact the press department of the Chinese Embassy/Consulate General in advance and complete the relevant formalities.

J1 visa holders must, within 30 days from the date of entry, apply to the entry/exit authorities of the public security organs under the local people's governments at or above the county level in their intended residences to obtain a residence permit for foreigners.
J2 show
A visa notification letter issued by the Information Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China or other authorized bodies in China, and an official letter issued by the media outlet in which the journalist works.
Applicants should contact the Chinese Embassy/Consulate General's Press Department in advance and complete the necessary formalities.
L-visa
Documents confirming the itinerary, including a record of booking air tickets (round trip) and confirmation of hotel reservations, etc., or an invitation letter issued by the relevant legal entity or individual in China. The letter of invitation must contain:
(1) Applicant information (full name, gender, date of birth, etc.)
(2) Information about the planned visit (dates of arrival and departure, place(s) of visit, etc.)
(3) Information about the inviting legal or natural person (name, contact phone number, address, official seal, signature of the legal representative or inviting person)
M visa
(1) Business documents issued by a trading partner in China or an invitation to a trade fair or other invitation letter issued by a relevant entity or person. The letter of invitation must contain:
a) Information about the applicant (full name, gender, date of birth, etc.)
b) Information about the planned visit (purpose of visit, dates of arrival and departure, place(s) of visit, relationship between the applicant and the inviting organization or individual, source of funding for expenses)
c) information about the inviting legal entity or individual (name, contact phone number, address, official seal, signature of the legal representative or inviting individual)

The following documents are required for family reunification:
(1) An invitation letter issued by a Chinese citizen or a foreign national with a permanent residence permit in China residing in China. The letter of invitation must contain:
a) Information about the applicant (full name, gender, date of birth, etc.)
b) Information about the visit (purpose of visit, estimated date of arrival, place(s) of intended residence, estimated duration of stay, dates of arrival and departure, relationship between the applicant and the inviting legal or natural person, source of funding for expenses)
c) information about the inviting person (full name, contact phone number, address, official seal, signature of the legal representative or inviting person, etc.)
(2) A photocopy of the inviting person's Chinese ID card or foreign passport and permanent residence permit.
(3) An original and a photocopy of a certificate (marriage certificate, birth certificate, kinship certificate issued by the Public Security Bureau, or a notarized kinship certificate) certifying the relationship between the applicant and the inviter.
“Family members” means spouses, parents, sons, daughters, spouses of sons or daughters, brothers, sisters, grandparents, grandchildren, granddaughters and parents of the wife.
The following documents are required for registration of patronage:
(1) Notary Certificate of Foster Care issued by Chinese Embassies/Consulates General in foreign countries, or Power of Attorney for Foster Care notarized and authenticated in the country of residence or in China.
(2) Original and photocopy of the shipper's passport(s), and original and photocopy of identification (marriage certificate, birth certificate, certificate of kinship issued by the Public Security Bureau or notarized certificate of kinship), notarized and certified certificate indicating the relationship between parents or guardians and children.
(3) A letter of consent for a foster family issued by a trustee residing in China who has agreed to provide foster care services, and a photocopy of the trustee's ID.
(4) A photocopy of the certificate of permanent residence status abroad of the parent(s) at the time of the child's birth, provided that one or both of the child's parents are Chinese citizens.

Q2-Visa
(1) An invitation letter issued by a Chinese citizen or a foreign national with a permanent residence permit in China residing in China. The letter of invitation must contain:
a) Information about the applicant (full name, gender, date of birth, etc.)
b) Information about the visit (purpose of visit, dates of arrival and departure, place(s) of visit, relationship between the applicant and the inviting person, source of funding for expenses)
c) Information about the inviting person (name, contact phone number, address, signature, etc.)
(2) A photocopy of the Chinese ID card or foreign passport and permanent residence permit of the inviting person.
R-show
The applicant must submit the relevant certification in accordance with the relevant regulations and fulfill the relevant requirements of the competent authorities of the Chinese government for high-level talents and specialists with special skills urgently needed by China,
S1-ed
(1) An invitation letter from an inviting person (a foreigner who is in or residing in China for work or study) containing:
a) Information about the applicant (full name, gender, date of birth, etc.)
b) Information about the visit (purpose of visit, dates of arrival and departure, place of intended residence, relationship between the applicant and the inviting person, source of funding for expenses, etc.)
c) Information about the inviting person (full name, contact phone number, address, signature, etc.)
(2) A photocopy of the passport and residence permit of the inviting person.
(3) An original and a photocopy of a certificate (marriage certificate, birth certificate, kinship certificate issued by the Public Security Bureau or a notarized kinship certificate) certifying the kinship of the next of kin between the applicants and the inviter.
"Immediate family members" refers to spouses, parents, sons or daughters under the age of 18, husband's and wife's parents.

S2 view
The following documents are required for visiting family members for a short period of time:
(1) An invitation letter issued by the inviting person (a foreigner who is in or residing in China for work or study) containing:
a) Information about the applicant (full name, gender, date of birth, etc.)
b) Information about the visit (purpose of visit, dates of arrival and departure, place(s) of visit, relationship between the applicant and the inviting person, source of funding for expenses, etc.)
c) Information about the inviting person (full name, contact phone number, address, signature, etc.)
(2) A photocopy of the passport and residence permit of the inviting person (a foreigner who is or lives in China for work or study).
(3) A photocopy of a certificate (marriage certificate, birth certificate or notarized certificate of relationship) showing the relationship between the applicant and the inviter.
“Family members” means spouses, parents, sons, daughters, spouses of sons or daughters, brothers, sisters, grandparents, grandchildren, granddaughters and parents of the wife.
With regard to personal files, documentation defining the nature of the personal files must be provided in accordance with the requirements of the consular officer.
X1 show
(1) Original and photocopy of the acceptance letter issued by the school or other organizations in China.
(2) Original and photocopy of China Study Visa Application (Form JW201 or Form JW202).

X2-Visa
Original and photocopy of the acceptance letter issued by the school or other organizations in China.
Z visa
One of the following documents:
(1) A work permit for foreigners in the People's Republic of China issued by the Chinese government human resources and welfare authorities, and an invitation letter from a duly authorized person or an invitation confirmation letter issued by the relevant Chinese organizations.
(2) A work permit for foreign experts in China or a letter of notification of a work permit for foreigners in China issued by the State Bureau of Foreign Experts, and an invitation letter from a duly authorized body or an invitation confirmation letter issued by the relevant Chinese authorities.
(3) Certificate of registration of permanent establishments of enterprises of foreign countries (regions) issued by the Chinese industrial and commercial authorities, as well as an invitation letter of a duly authorized person or an invitation confirmation letter issued by the relevant Chinese authorities, and an invitation Letter of a duly authorized persons or a confirmation letter of invitation issued by the relevant Chinese organizations.
(4) A commercial submission approval document issued by the Chinese government cultural affairs authorities, or a Letter of Invitation from a duly authorized person, or an Invitation Confirmation Letter issued by the relevant Department of Foreign Affairs of the provincial governments of China.
(5) Letter of Invitation for Foreigners to Offshore Oil Operations in China issued by the China National Offshore Petroleum Corporation;
We remind you that:
Z visa holders must, within 30 days from the date of their entry, apply to the entry/exit authorities of the public security organs under the local people's governments at or above the county level in their intended places of residence to obtain a residence permit for foreigners.
3. Special reminder
(1) The letter of invitation may be in the form of a fax, photocopy or computer printout, but a consular officer may require the applicant to submit the original letter of invitation.
(2) If necessary, a consular officer may require the applicant to provide other supporting documents or additional materials or require an interview with the applicant.
(3) The consular officer decides on the issuance of a visa, as well as its validity, duration of stay and number of entries, taking into account the specific conditions of the applicant.
